Witch Shoes....

Hey and welcome back! Well this is what I've been up today. I made a couple pair of witches shoes and they were soooo much fun to make. I had actually cut out the pattern, stuffed and painted them last night and had to wait til this morning to sand them down and finish up with the details. I have to say this has been one of more fun projects that I've done in awhile. I'm not real big into decorating for Halloween but do have a few things. I like more fall, Thanksgiving decorations than I do the spook holiday but I have to admit....making these along with the little witch that I showed you earlier has made me want to. I'll be making more of these today...or starting on them anyway. I'll be leaving on Friday for mine and my husbands 10th anniversary. A little get away just the two of us. Yippeee So I'll need to pack and prepare for that tomorrow and then when we return on Sunday I can flip the switch back on to my sewing machine and get back to work. I'm hoping that these will sell well come next fall.
Then this pair was a special request from my friend Brenda. She had sent me a picture of some similar to these so I whipped these up in no time. They are so fun! I hope that she's happy with them.
Well I'm heading back to the craft room to see how much more that I can get done. Hope that everyone is having a nice fall day. It's been chilly here....brrr

The littlest witch....

Knock knock....anyone home? Well hi there! Thought that I'd introduce you too little Witch Wanda today. I've been working on her for several days due to the fact that I've not been feeling that well and mainly because the pattern that I had for her was all messed up. I'm not going to give the person's name that made the original pattern cause I had to redo it so much just to make it work. It frustrates me so bad to pay for a pattern then have to completely redo it. But anyway, here's how she turned out. I've just fallen in love with her and hate to part with her come next fall but it's not like I can't make myself one anytime I please.
The book? Oh yeah how can I go without saying something about this book. I read this book as a child and it was one of my favorite. Other than the Hardy Boys books...oops now I'm telling my age cause some of you may not even know who they are. But this little book I ran across on eBay back several years ago and it brought back so many wonderful memories for me. I can remember sitting in my room as a little girl reading and snickering to myself as I read about this mischievous little witch. I'm pretty sure that it's out of publications now but if you ever run across it at a thrift store or yard sale or even on ebay. Grab it! It will fill your heart with laughter and is just a fun little read around this time of year. Your kids would love to hear all about some of the adventures that this little witch gets herself into.
Well I'm off to work on another project. Will check back in later and show you some more of my handy work. Hope that you all have a wonderful day........

Mayonnaise Rolls YUM!

Ever needed some rolls to go with dinner only to get dinner started and realize you have none to go with it and it's just a tad to late to run to the store? Well here's a quick and simple solution for you. I make these all the time cause they are just that.....quick and simple.

Mayonnaise Rolls
yields 6
1 1/2 cup self rising flour
3/4 cup milk
2 HEAPING tablespoons mayonnaise
Mix all ingredients til lumps are gone and pour into greased muffin tin in a 450 degree oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until tops are golden done.

These are so simple to make that you don't have to be Betty Crocker to make them and they save the day when you've ran out of any other kind of bread to serve with your meal. Now pour on the butter and eat up! YUMMMMMM

BOO!

Welcome back! Just like I promised here are some of the fall crafts that I've made over the years. This little ghost has done gone and taken a spill...guess he had to take a break from all the spooking cause he's laying down on the job. I actually saw a picture of one of these and made myself a pattern for it. I thought it was so darling that I just had to have one for myself. It's made out of material that I've painted to give it a more leather like look and feel.
Then I went on to make me a scarecrow to go with the little ghost.....they keep each other company.
Then these funny little guys are just happy to see everyone as you can tell. Some of these were made my by sis over at Happy Shack and she sent me that pattern so I could make some for myself. I sold a lot of these at the gift shop that used to carry my things. Cute aren't they?
Then ohhhh we have to have some candy corn. What would fall be without it? These were super simple to make and yes it's another pattern that my sis at Happy Shack sent me. I just love them.
Then last but certainly not least....meet Ebeneezer! Suzie made this for me from Happy Shack as well and I just love love love him! Thanks again sis for all the great patterns and sweet little love gifts. They are greatly appreciated!
I have a few more things to share with you for fall but can only get 5 pictures at once on a post so looks like you'll have to stick around a bit longer and see what else I have in store for you....come on back now you here?

It's Fall Ya'll!

Welcome come on in and sit a spell. I've been decorating for fall and thought that I'd share some things with you. I'd like to say that I made the Welcome sign but I didn't. I happily bought it off of a craft vendor years ago at a craft show and have loved it ever since.
My poor fodder shock looked much better before the storm knocked it over a couple days ago and well I just can't get it to stand up right now. So it looks like the leaning tower of Pisa. I didn't like the plain old containers that the mums were in cause they were so ho hum, so I added some fall material around them and they look much better now I think.
This is at the entry to our home as well. I made the pumpkin in the middle and the rest are store bought...I'll show you more things that I've made in the next post.
Here's how I decorated the hutch that I redid back in the spring. All the fall decorations was either handmade by myself or my sweet little sis over at Happy Shack. They were "love gifts" from her and are cherished.
Come on back and I'll show you close ups of some of these creations in the next post.......Happy Fall Ya'll!!

Flatbread pizza

Hi all...I'm going to share with you something that I've never done before. A recipe! This one your going to love cause it's super easy and the best part is that they are so easily adaptable to whatever you want or like on your pizza. My sis over at Happy Shack and I came up with this recipe and we call them lakebrats just because of the fact that you can have anything that you like...just like a brat and since we both live on lakes it was perfect. So here goes. If you have any questions or if you feel that I've left anything out please let me know.

Flat bread or Wraps (located where the tortilla shells are at)
pizza sauce
mozzarella cheese
feta cheese
green pepper finely chopped
onion finely chopped
pepperoni
black olives
red roasted peppers
sun dried tomatoes
chicken tender (cooked and chopped in small pieces)
canned mushrooms
basil pesto (just a little bit cause remember this is an extremely powerful taste and a little goes along way. Add it right after the sauce)

Fry up the chicken tenders in about a half a can of chicken broth and some minced garlic. Set aside and let cool while chopping up your green peppers and onion. Then chop up your chicken tenders and have handy.
Line the bottom of your oven with aluminum foil to catch and drips that may occur. Then preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place the flat bread or Wraps on the middle rack for 1 minute on each side. Take out and start adding your toppings. Place back in oven and cook for 6 to 7 minutes or until your mozzarella cheese is melted nicely.
Please remember that you can put anything that you would like on your pizza. These are completely adaptable to your specific taste and the best part about it is. They are like having your own personal pizza.
My sister and I talk on a daily basis and toss ideas back and forth about crafting, cooking ect. and when I was telling her about the pizza that I had at McAlisters Deli in Destin, Fla this summer and just how good it was, it set off a brain storm of how we could make our own and this is what we came up with. So when sis and her hubby Don were here this summer we got to cooking...we were like mad scientist in the kitchen adding a little this and a little that and waaa laaa. Here's the outcome.
It may be the end of summer but remember pizza is good all year and they are so quick and easy and best of all you can please everyone in your family. Then sit back kick up your heels and take a break....no need to stand over a stove for hours making a huge meal when you can have a lakebrat in 30 minutes or less. YUMMMM
Hope you enjoy!

A Wonderful Gift....and even more precious friend!

I had lunch with my wonderful friend Brenda today and look what she brought me for my birthday....now I know my birthday was back in June but I hadn't got to spend any time with her since the end of May and so we were a bit late getting to celebrate. I just had to share with you all the pretties that she got me cause they are just to darling.
First off the mannequin is just too cha cha for words. The pictures don't do the scrapbook justice at all it's way prettier and has a raised surface over the flowers. The air freshner is beautiful, it has pink beads in the bottom of it, has pink pearls around the rim and smells like lavender....that will make my bedroom smell just heavenly. Then there's 2 cute stamps for scrapbooking, card making or whatever along with a pumpkin pie candle and some pumpkin room freshner. So she has me ready all ready for fall. Then the socks have aloe in them and those will feel sooooo good at night while I'm sitting around watching tv, blogging or just snuggling up. The little pillow says Cherish also smells like lavender....it's yummy. All of these things are so wonderful. She really went overboard for my birthday when all that I could of ever wished for is spending the day with her out junkin' and of course TJMaxx (which we did those things as well). I'm so blessed to have her as a friend and thank my lucky stars that she's part of my life. We lost contact with one another for so many years so we are getting to play catch up now and it's sooooo much fun! Thanks again Brenda, your kind heartedness NEVER goes unnoticed.
Now ya'll come on back soon cause I've got to share with you what all I found while we were junkin' today....it was another good day for it.

Oh Soooo French......

Hi all!! I finally found my plate hangers so I could get these put on the walls. Wal-Mart has been out of them forever and I had looked high and low for some to no avail. Luckily when I went to pick up party supplies for my son's 16th birthday party Sunday, I peeked over in the DIY isle and they had gotten a new shipment. I wish that I had just bought all that they have cause I'm hanging plates in my bedroom too. That is if hindsight had been 20/20 but it wasn't unfortunately. So I'll just have to see if I can get lucky again getting more. But anyway, these plates I found on ebay. I can't remember exactly what I paid for them but I'm sure knowing me it wasn't much. I just love them. They have birds on them (imagine that) I think they are pheasants but I'm not real sure. All I know is that I love them. Next week I'm going to start working on painting the table and chairs in there and will share those with you as well. After that....I'm DONE with that room. Until I can afford to get me some new countertops and flooring that is and that may be awhile.
Hope that everyone is having a blessed day and ya'll come on back soon. You never know what I might pull out of the old magic hat to show you.

A true trash to treasure....

Yep I meant it when I said this was a true trash to treasure. I needed to do something with the trash can that sat on our back deck that we keep our dog food in and since we don't have a garage then hiding it back there was not an option. So my only other option was to dress it up a bit. I took a roll of wallpaper that I already had on hand that was leftover from a previous project and ripped it into little pieces and used Modge Podge to glue it on the can. It gave it a marbled look. Oops let me back up. I first spray painted my handles cause I knew that I'd never get those covered with the wallpaper. Then I started ripping and gluing.
Ta da! There you have it, a trash can that's worthy of sitting out and being on display rather than an eyesore. I do have to say one thing though about this project. I didn't put a sealer on it and it only lasted about 2 years without it where I'm sure that it would of lasted a lot longer had I sealed it with something so be sure to put some kind of sealer on it. The project really didn't take me that long at all and I need to do another one....I cheated this time and just bought a black trash can to conceal everything and keep it in the dry. Hmmmm maybe I need to add that to my long list of to do projects.
