Vintage Makeup Case Makeover!.....

Hey everyone! I've been meaning to show you all this for a while now but. We'll I've already explained myself about why I have been MIA for the past several months. So I'm trying to do some catch up. I bought this little vintage makeup case while I was in Oklahoma this time and had my best sista chick Suzie ship it to me. It was filled with other things as well but I didn't take pictures of all of my treasures I found but will try to do so soon.
So here is how I made it over. I used Graphic 45 papers that I found for cheap at Tuesday Morning.
I haven't quite made up my mind what I'm going to use it for but wouldn't it be just absolutely darling to take to a crop? Or to actually use as a carry on? Cute huh?

Here are a couple of things I found in Oklahoma. The camera's. One I bought myself and the other was a very generous and precious gift from Suzie and her sister Brenda. It had been their mothers camera. I told Suzie that I'd love to have a picture of her herself to place with the camera. That camera will be treasured forever!
These little ballerina slippers were calling my name. They were brand new so I added a ribbon and now they hang on my craft room door. I found these also in Oklahoma.
Ok well I think that gets us caught up. Not much happening here, partly because of my ongoing illness and partly because of my precious little baby fur ball who I want to play with all the time. Please tell me that will wear off after a while and I'll be able to get back in the craft room doing something. I tried last week for a while but didn't get much done cause I want to go check and make sure Zoe was alright.
Have a great day everyone! And I hope that your kicking your New Year off on a good foot and that things are going well so far for you.

In Memory of our oldest fur baby Hank....

Please look through the pictures of our Hank's life and then you can read the post at the end. The boy in the pictures are of my son at varied ages.

I told Austin that Hank was bringing red clay mud in the house and making it a mess in the laundry room. Next thing I know........here was Austin's solution to that problem. (you have how kids think)
 Hank LOVED snow!!!

He ruined the largest hosta I've ever grown by sitting in the center of it. But he was so sweet I couldn't even get upset over it.

He pulled Austin around in the lake all the time when Austin was little.

Austin would throw acorns and Hank would catch them. They loved that game in the fall.

We lost Hank on New Years Eve/New Years Day of this year. As my husband and I were watching the ball drop I went to check on Hank to see if he needed to go outside to potty or if he would like a treat and what I found will haunt me FOREVER! He was in so much pain and it was evident. I want go into details because it's still hard enough as it is to even think about Hank. But trust me he was in bad shape. So Mr. Candy Creek called our son home from his girlfriends house so we could get Hank loaded into the back of the truck. He weighed to much for me to be of any help at all lifting him. Gerald took him to the Pet Emergency Clinic that is right here close to our home. Sadly, they informed my husband that he had cancer and one of the tumors had ruptured and that he was dying. So they went ahead and let Hank go painless and peacefully. It was a really bad start to say the least to our New Year.
As you can see through the pictures above, Hank was out constant companion no matter what we were doing. He always met my son Austin at the top of the hill when he came home from school every day. Anytime that we were at the boat dock Hank was right there with us and ready to ride whatever water craft we put him on. He just loved being with us. He even played basketball with Austin when he was younger and loved it. It wasn't until the last 3 yrs that we had to be HIS constant companion and move him into the house. We converted a bathroom that was close to the back door into his personal little room and made it as comfortable for him as we possible could. That little room of his was where he spent his final hour being loved on petted and caressed. We had Hank for 13 yrs and he was a rescue dog. He came to us at 1 yr old and was such a good dog. Our hearts will have a permanent scar on it from the loss of this sweet precious lab/chow mix.
Had I known what was going to happen. I wouldn't of hesitated in my decision of getting Zoe for Christmas. Because she has really helped us heal some. I was concerned that Hank might of thought that we got Zoe and he would be pushed aside. Which wasn't true at all and Hank loved Zoe and visa versa. Zoe would sneak off every single day and go lay down with Hank and he would scoot over to give her room to lay on his bed with him. He soo loved little dogs. The last thing he did that day before getting so bad was he gave Zoe a kiss. It was so sweet. I pray that our hearts heal quickly and if there is such a thing as a doggie heaven I'm sure he's in it.
Thanks for stopping by and celebrating Hanks life with us...

My Dream Came True this Christmas....

Here she is!! NO NO NO! Not the crazy lady wearing similar pajamas like Little Ralphie's in the Christmas Story. Over look her. Look at the sweet little baby in the stocking! I have been wanting one of these breeds for YEARS now! And can not believe that I got finally got one. I almost told my husband no don't get her. Can you believe that?? Well if you knew how bad my health has been lately you would understand but I decided that she might be a good therapy dog for me and so far she has proven to be just that. She's precious! She's laid back and not real needy at all. I've named her Zoe Grace.
She is a Biewer Terrier. They originate in Germany and are kind of rare in the United States right now. Rare as meaning you can't find these as readily as you could say a Yorkie.
Yes I'm in puppy love! She's so precious! On the days that I do feel like going to the craft room and working and doing something I really don't want to NOT play with her. She's so doggon' darling I just want to stay with her. But she's not demanding of attention. Today I didn't feel like staying out of bed much and she was fine with that. She just curls up in her little bed and sleeps until I get up to get something to drink or eat and she will greet me to say HI. If any of you are considering a little house dog. I highly recommend this breed. She was pretty much potty trained by the time that we got her at 12 weeks and I've been training her tricks and she caught on to very fast. So its a smart breed as well.
So now that's you've met my new fur baby girl.....I'm out of here to play with her before its time to lay her down to sleep for the night.

Money Book....

Hey All! I know this is really late at getting posted so please forgive me. I thought about not posting it at all but then realized this isn't just for Christmas, it can be used for any occasion. Just change up the paper and run with it.
If you fold the bills up in 3 sections it helps to fill your book better....(and if you use one dollar bills it want cost you a small fortune to make a nice thick book ) I used embroidery thread to "bind" the book.
The look on my niece and nephews faces was priceless when they opened theirs. They must of thought they had struck gold.
It reminded me of when I was a little girl and my papaw and granny would come over for Christmas he would give us kids some type of container or something another that he would put a little bit of money in. I'm so thankful that I'm so sentimental about things cause I happen to save the last one that he gave me. It was an emptied prescription bottle (this was back when they had pop top lids) and he had ripped a little bit of Christmas paper so that the outside of the bottle would be pretty. Then on the lid he wrote who it was for and who it was from. Of course the money has long been spent, but I kept that little medicine bottle that was so loving thought of by my papaw and granny.
I wasn't able to do any shopping whatsoever this Christmas cause I have been in the hospital and having tests run since I've been out so this Christmas had to be a different kind of Christmas. I look forward to a better one this year.
Take care all
ohhhh wait......I need to let you all know what I got for Christmas first...you'll have to look for the next post though.
