More mini albums....

 Hi everyone! I wasn't kidding when I said I had made a few more toilet paper mini albums. Some of them aren't made with the toilet paper rolls. I used regular card stock on several of them because I was tired of taking the cardboard centers out of all of the rolls in the house and linen closet. I'm not a big fan of Halloween things for myself personally but couldn't help myself but to work on something for the holiday. I will sell these next year since I don't have a child that dresses up anymore. I used Close to my heart papers for this mini and the little house on the front is from Martha Stewart from several years ago that I had bought on clearance.

 The house actually lights up by a push of a button and is actually kind of cool!

 In the back of the mini album I made a gusset pocket for a couple of tag with pictures OR you could always put a small candy bar in the back.

 This is the next Halloween mini that I made and I was inspired to use the "webbing" after I saw Ashliegh's from Scrapsbuttonsnbows. She used this and mod podged it on for a creepy scary look.

 The spiders I had found at the $ store several years ago and they were actually kid rings but I just snipped the ring part off and added a little bit of red fingernail polish so the 8 legged critters would show up a little better.

 This is what the back of the album looks like with the little spider on top.....hiding behind the tombstone.

I'm sorry that some of these pictures are sideways. I spent entirely to much time trying to get them straight and finally gave up. I intentionally ran the "webbing" haphazardly as you open the album and used black Velcro for my closure.

 I had to add these little skeletons. I guess I could call this album the Achmed mini album.....

 The tags for the album, I thought would be cute if they looked like headstones and would go with the theme of the album.

 Ashliegh from Scrapsbuttonsnbows gifted me with the papers that I used as well as this skull that I used in the back. Thank you Ashliegh!

 I made this mini at the end of August for my son for his birthday. I really tried to make it look industrial and manly but I have a problem with manly crafts. I really like how it turned out though.

 I added pictures of my son that were taken either on his birthday each year of his life or ones that were taken right after his birthday which happens to be around the time that his school pictures were taken. What I wanted to show my son since he just turned 20 is what a difference 10 years makes.

 So as he flipped each page he would pull out the tag and could see how he had changed in 10 years. I want even go into how much I cried while making this album.

 Then this last mini I made for my nephew and niece who just bought their first home. I thought it would be fun for them to add pictures in it of their first major investment. I fussy cut the rooster out of the paper pad I was using and made the little flowers and Home Sweet Home sign and put the sign on pop dots.

I added charms to this little mini...a key, lock, fleur de lis and tassel. On the inside front and back, I added gusseted pockets for more room for extra photos.

Raising money for Susan G. Komen mini album...

 Hi everyone! I have been neglecting blogging about the things that I've been working on. Not only have I not been blogging them but I haven't been taking pictures of them either but luckily I did snap a couple of pictures of this mini album that I made before it was shipped out. I participated in a fund raiser along with several other extremely talented ladies to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation. This little mini album using the centers from toilet paper rolls. Each "page" has a tag for pictures and when closed creates a little box so to speak. I left it rather plain so that whomever purchased it could simply add pictures.

I do apologize, but these are the only pictures that I took of the album because I was in a hurry to get it boxed up and shipped off so it could be sold. But there were 5 "pages" in total for the album. Since then I have made several other mini's like this that I will be sharing with you so stick around to see more.

Believe in Magic mixed media canvas....

 Well remember me telling you all way back many months ago that I was falling in love doing mixed media? Well it hasn't changed. I still love getting my hands good and dirty in the paint and glue and anything else I decide to put on the canvas. This is the latest one that I did and I'm thinking of doing another one with Santa on it as well. When I start one of these, I can't stop until I'm completely happy with it so I try not to start one late at night because I actually tried to walk away from this one late one night and couldn't sleep and so I got back up and finished it before I was able to find the sandman.

These are so much fun. It's the only kind of painting that doesn't stress me out because I don't have to worry about staying between the lines or doing the correct brush strokes and so on and so forth. There is no real rules.....it's all in the eyes of the creator to decide whether or not its right. I like not coloring within the lines so to speak.

Makeup bags....

 I'm back! So here are few more things that I've made since I pulled my sewing machine back out. It's been a while since I've sewn anything. So long in fact that I had a spool of thread that had actually dry rotted. It took me a while to figure out why the thread kept breaking on me and it really wasn't the operator of the machine.....that time. So anyway, The above picture is a little makeup bag that Suzie taught me how to make and I made about a dozen of those all in different fabrics of course.

 Then I didn't stop there. I made these as well. I believe that there are 7 in total of them. The flowers I made using more of the crocheted centers from my trip to Oklahoma to see Suzie this summer. But the big thing about these makeup bags for me was.......

 THE ZIPPERS! See for you seasoned pro's out there that have put tons of zippers in things. These happen to be my first and I was so proud of myself. I can remember my mom telling me that zippers were really hard to do and I would say they are in clothing which is what she would sew when I was little but these were easier than I thought they would be. I think that my husband was even impressed with me for putting them in and since he's the one that taught me how to sew on a machine that made me feel even better about it.

The purple zippers make me SMILE! I thought it would bring out the purple that was in the fabric a little bit more.
I have sewn some more things but it's do dark outside to take pictures of them right now so I'll have to get those pictures tomm. But I switched things up a tad before I started sewing again and I'll show you what I created in the next post.

Boho/Shabby Chic bag

 Hi everyone! I pulled my sewing machine out last month, blew off the dust and got to stitching. Here are a few things that I made. The boho bag above was fun and is meant to hang across your body for added comfort which is why the strap is so long.

 Here is a little Shabby Chic bag that I made. I bought the crochet doily while I was visiting Suzie in Oklahoma.

 

 And this little bag I was thinking would be good for a little girl. I made the flowers that I put on the front of this one as well as the Boho bag.

Of course while my sewing machine was already out I did make some more things that I will be posting for you to see.

Suzie's mini album...

 Hi! Ok so this album I'm just calling it Suzie's mini since that is who I made it for. However, I learned how to make this mini following Ginger's tutorial at My Sisters Scrapper. You can follow the tutorial yourself starting at this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqcgJZKKLVk I'm sorry but I can not remember what the name of the paper pad is that I used here on this mini. If the name of it comes to me then I will add an update at the bottom of this post. The birdcage and bird are cut on my Big Shot with Tim Holtz die with chipboard I also used I am roses flowers.

 I filled the birdcage with teeny tiny seed beads and then covered those with crackle accents. I used Stickles on the bird and wing and then added some hanging beads at the bottom.

 The pennant I cut out of the paper line (that I can't remember the name of...sorry again about that)

 The teal ribbon came from Hobby Lobby and the white ribbon is from Tim Holtz. The flat backed pearls are from....??? I have no idea where it came from. I get things from so many different places and WISH that I could remember where I got the flat backed pearls from because I am out and need some but only buy when I find a really good price. So if any of you know where I can find some that are priced well please let me know.

 I used one of Martha Stewart's corner punches on all of the flip out pages.

 By the way. This is a paper bag mini album and you can see one of the tags sticking out in the above picture where my fingers are. I forgot to take pictures showing that.

 The very last page has a waterfall page on it that I absolutely love. I'm so thankful that Ginger taught me how to make these because I want to make more!
