The Kitchen tree.....just add feathers

Ok here you can see the tree that I'm totally in love with. It turned out far better than I had envisioned and my husband says that these pictures aren't doing it justice...I have to agree with him. It is much more beautiful in person so sorry I could get a better picture of it that would show just how gorgeous it really is. I added small wreaths on the backs of all the chairs using robins egg blue ribbon and of course I've already discussed the centerpiece.
ok so here's a close up of one of the birds nest that I made the first of the year and then tucked away til this year. I simply took regular cheap little birds nest from Hobby Lobby and bought some of the little eggs there as well. I painted the eggs robins egg blue and glued them in then brushed the entire nest and eggs with elmers glue and sprinkled it really heavy with mica flake glitter to make it look as if snow had landed on it. You can also see some of the vintage balls that I collected over the course of the year. They are 2 different shades of robins egg blue. Then I added a couple of strands of silver balls that I found at ........the dollar store...yes the dollar store for a whopping 1 buck!
I found these birdhouses at Hobby lobby as well in the unfinished wood section. So I came home and painted them with the same paint that I had painted the walls in the kitchen. Then took the same steps as I did with the nest to make it look like snow has fallen on them. You can see another picture of the nest and then the darker robins egg blue feathers that you see on the tree is actually a boa feather that was cut up and placed throughout the tree in certain spots and I think that's what made it really pop.
While shopping for the vintage Shiny Brite Christmas balls on ebay I luckily ran across these beautiful vintage birds. I was only able to find 6. I really wish that I had more but that was all that I could find. I think that they fit in just perfectly.
This concludes the kitchen decorations .... I think. If I happen to see something that I missed I'll be sure to share it with you. I do have my decorations up outside but haven't taken the pictures of it all yet. But will be sure to share all that with you all as well. So come on back soon and peep in and see what else I've decorated. See ya soon!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas....

Ok I couldn't wait til after Thanksgiving this year to start putting my decorations up. I'm just too excited and was really excited about getting the kitchen done since I've been collecting over the year for this theme and color that I've chosen for the kitchen. You all know that I redid my kitchen last winter after Christmas so this year I just had to make it as lovely as what my kitchen is itself. So the first picture is of the cupboard. I simply added strands of silver beads on the top ledge and added some glittery snowflakes in front of the plates and added some of the larger robins egg blue balls in the cups and a bowl.
I found this wide mouthed vase at TJMaxx for only $5.99. Let me tell you Hobby Lobby has these as well but wanted either $39.99 or $49.99!! Can you believe that? So needless to say I stuck with my favorite store. I added more robins egg blue balls and some bright shiny silver balls as well then tucked yet a few more snowflakes at the top and that is now my centerpiece for the table.
The glitter Noel sign is also one of my great buys at TJMaxx. I only paid $9.99 for it and it's just perfect cause it has that vintage feel to it and the O is a snowflake in the color of robins egg blue. I used robins egg blue ribbon to hang it from the mirror in the kitchen.
Here's a better picture of the NOEL sign and you can see the reflection of the tree in the background
Ok on this double pie stand....I bought it at Salvation Army months ago and painted it black. I just simply added some robins egg blue larger balls that I had found at Kmart last year and then added some of my vintage Shiny Brite balls in with them. It just adds another touch of glimmer in there.
Now don't go running off anywhere cause I have more to share with you for the kitchen....so sit back and give me a bit while I get the next blog on so you can see more.

New Find!

No it isn't a trash to treasure and believe it or not it's not even something that I found at my favorite store (TJMaxx)....its actually from Bealls of Florida! My sis Suzie from over at Happy Shack had been spending the fall in Florida and went shopping and told me about this great purse that she found. Well as she described it, it reminded me of the purse that my friend Brenda had and one that I've loved and admired ever since I saw it. So I just had to have me one as well. But the best part of it all was that it was only $21! Can you believe that? $21!!! So I immediately put in an order for one. Then Suzie had went to an outlet and found the wallets to match the purses and picked those up for $9.99! WOW! What a deal as well. I'm so happy with my new purchase that I just had to share it all with you so you could get one as well. The address for Bealls is www.beallsflorida.com
Thank you Suzie for the wallet. I love it and it matches the new purse perfectly!

Table for 4......Complete!

Well FINALLY I was able to finish the table and chairs for the kitchen......I've had the chairs done for a bit now but it took me a little longer to get the table painted. I've had numerous setbacks with my health and wasn't able to get it done. But Ta Da now it's complete and I'm loving it. I can't hardly wait til Christmas gets here so I can go ahead and decorate the table. I plan on making me some new placemats just for the holidays and adding some small wreaths that will hang on the backs of the chairs. Will be adding a large wide mouthed glass vase and adding robins egg blue Christmas balls along with some silver ones. Oh in my vision it looks really pretty, lets just hope that it all pulls together.
Well that's all for the moment that I have to share with you except for one more thing but you'll have to come back to see it........
