Some jewelry

HI! Thought I'd share with you a few more pieces of jewelry out of my collection that I've made. I hope that I haven't repeated myself on these. If I have then I'm sorry. A friend of mine requested to see some more back weeks ago and so I'm sorry that it took me so long to get it on here....so there ya go Brenda. Hope that it gives you some ideas and that your whipping up some pretties of your own soon.
I didn't realize just how much I had missed you all. I'm so glad to be feeling like my old self again. Now it's back to work for me. I have chores to do before I can get to any fun stuff.....

Loving Life......

Hey it's just me again......first off I was so glad to be able to share the view from my front porch with you. Then I got to looking at the picture and realized that the front part of our floating dock is underwater. Oh well, positive part of all that is, we are going to drag that one out this week or next week and replacing it with a new one so the foam want be replaced under the old one. And now you'll be able to see the difference once we get the new dock put in. So it's allll good. There is a road that you can drive down to the lake part of our property and thats what your seeing going half way through the picture. Its nice when I need to drive down rather than walk.....like now. But on the positive side of that as well. My wonderful hubby bought me a golf cart to use this year so that's going to come in really handy. He's such a wonderful considerate man, I'm so thankful and blessed to have him.
ok so on to show you some things that are blooming. Now please overlook any leftover leaves or weeds cause I've not had a chance to do much grubbing...well none as far as that goes. But here's some hosta that is popping up below the swing. If you were sitting in that swing you would be overlooking a pond that is nestled in between the rocks and has a pump in it that shoots out of an old water faucet. We have tried to put fish in the pond but they keep jumping out onto dry land....hmmm maybe they are wanting to go for a swing rather than a swim.
Here's another hosta bed sprouting up. I have tons of it spread out all over the back yard and into the wooded area. Thanks to my sister in laws for giving me starts back years ago. I transplanted another really large bed of it last year and am hoping to transplant some of that ivy that you can see in the background of some of the pictures to a steep bank on one side of our property. I started transplanting some already but it's a big area to try to cover.
This is some candytuff that my sweet little mother in law gave me years ago
My iris are coming up. My son and I planted these and transplanted them back when he was just a tiny little thing so they are extremely special to me. Makes me smile every time that I see them bloom.
And last but not least. Remember this tub that I painted and showed you last month. Well it along with the 2 little pots have their own place in the backyard now as well. I'm not sure what I'm going to plant in them yet but I'm sure excited to get something growing soon in them. It needs to be drought tolerant cause I've found that everything that I put in the stainless tubs dries out fast. Do you have any ideas? I could always just make myself a note and stick it on the fridge to water those plants daily......that would work as well.
Hope that you enjoyed that tour of my backyard....come on back in a flash cause I have something else to share with you.

I'm Back!

Hey all! I can't promise that this is a permanent thing but so far so good. I've been cleaning and doing laundry and took some pictures for you. I had to share with you first what's been in my bedroom and everyone in the household has had to understand since I've been so down in my back. My sister Suzie (over at Happy Shack) made me this little door hanger and I just love it. Isn't she talented! Thanks again sis, it's come in handy this past month. So with that said.....I have some more things to show you but your going to have to come back to see them. So just stick around or come on back after a quick break and I should have something to show you.

A Mothers Day gift.....

Hey all!! Thought that I'd share with you what I'm planning on giving my mother-in-law for Mothers Day. I painted this about 3 weeks ago when I was feeling better. Like I've told you before with my painting...I'm still a rookie but my husband thought that it was a good idea to give this to his mom since I gave my mom one not to long ago. I just hope that she likes it. I have the best mother-in-law in the world, she just absolutely precious and treats me so good. I couldn't ask for a better one.
Hope that everyone is having a good day. Will see ya soon.....

Spring blooms

I managed to make my way to my back yard yesterday to take these pictures for you. Since I hadn't been out there for 3 weeks I didn't realize that my lab had decided to make a bed out of one of my flower beds and not sure that it will even come up this year. grrr But anyway, my carpet phlox (or creeping phlox depending on where you live) really suffered from the drought last year. But it's still pretty and hopefully it will start spreading again.
This is a better look at what my backyard looks like during the spring. You can see in the lower right hand corner where my hosta is starting to come up. Just over look some of the weeds that need killer put on them. Since there are so many big boulders in our back yard we decided years ago to just add the small river rocks so that we don't have to mow around them and we really like that. It's different and when the weeds are killed out its a really clean look.
So anyway, there's a peek at some of my spring blooms. I missed getting pictures of all the daffodils to show you but they were really pretty.
Hope that everyone is having a wonderful Sunday.......

A poster and an old frame..

Hey all....well I think that I'm coming back to life again. Just going to have to take those baby steps to make sure that I don't land back in bed for two weeks. So anyway, I was walking around the house thinking...hmmm what can I share with everyone today and this is what I found. I had bought a poster off the internet and wanted to use it so bad. So after digging through all my old frames I finally found one that would fit it perfectly. I just put a quick coat of black paint on the frame then sanded it real good to give it that shabby distressed look and added a wood applique that I found at Wal-Mart. Its now displayed on a shelf in my hallway and I just love it.
Now that I'm starting to feel better, ya'll just peek back in soon cause surely I can find something to talk to you about.....

May she rest in peace......

Hello everyone. I write today with a sad heart. My best and dearest friends mother passed away this morning. Suzie needs prayers of strength and peace during this sad time and I'm asking that all of my blogger friends do that for her. Suzie is the blogger that has Happy Shack that is listed on the right side of my page. She is like the sister that I've never had and it burdens my heart so bad that we aren't within close enough driving distance to where I can be there with her to help support her through all of this. But Suzie on a special note to you. I just want you to know that I love you dearly and that I'm holding your hand if only in spirit through all of this. May God be with you and comfort you. I know that you did all that you could for your mother and she knows it as well. I love you sis.......

Here comes Peter Cottontail.....

Hey All! I thought that I would wish everyone an early Happy Easter by sharing with you a rabbit that I made last year. This bunny is about 21 inches long....she's huge and I just love her. This is one of the few things that I made and kept for myself and have only made this one. I forget who's pattern that it's by and I'm so sorry for that but I can't seem to place my pattern right at the moment.
I'd like to thank all of those that has sent me well wishes via here as well as emails. I truly appreciate all the prayers and thoughts. You all mean the world to me. I'm doing some better but just trying to let my body adjust to the new medicine that my doctor has put me on so I'm still on the mend but am starting to feel stronger and can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Lets just pray that it's not a freight train coming......tee hee hee. Hey look at that. I'm getting my sense of humor back which means it want be long before I'm back on my feet again and blogging more frequently.
Hope that everyone is having a great day. Check back soon for you never know I may have something else to show you.....

Bedfast.....

Hi everyone. I just wanted to send a quick post out to all of you that the reason I haven't been posting regularly is because I have been bedfast. I'm down in my back really bad and it takes a lot for me to even walk. Please if you would say a prayer that I get some relief soon. I went to the doctor yesterday and they changed my medicines around but they make me really sleepy so I'm in La La land the larger part of the day. Please don't give up on me. I'll be back up and getting some things done soon. Just please don't forget about me......
Will be returning as soon as I recuperate....thanks for standing by me and I'll see you soon.
